Leif Fortlouis is a New York-based artist and
musician with over 5 years of teaching experience in
the area of Fine Arts.

In addition to developing literacy-based educational
programs for students of all ages, he has specialized
in illustration and animation projects for inner-city
youth.

The bold and playful nature of much of his work has
lent itself to a wide variety of media, including
children’s furniture, independent film and set design,
stock illustration, and murals.
As a musician Leif draws inspiration from a
range of sources, from Classical to Metal to
Salsa, and writes, performs and produces his
own compositions.

His music can be heard in independent films as
well as his own video projects.

He currently performs lead and rhythm guitars
and backing vocals with the Hard Rock band
Riffhanger.
Since moving to Queens in 1996, he has
worked in retail and general contracting, on
film sets and stage productions, and at
galleries and museums.

Leif has worked at
The American Museum of
Natural History
since 2006 where, as Assistant
Director of Traveling Exhibitions Operations, he
manages and travels the globe with AMNH
exhibits.


He currently resides in Woodside, NY, with his
family and pets.
